"flip flop"

have you ever played "flip flop?"  we'll that's what gentry rose calls a good old fashioned game of memory.  she is up to playing with 5 sets of matches these days.  at first she just liked to turn the cards over and name what was on the card...  now, she really grasp the concept of looking for a match.  whenever she gets a match she yells out "FLIP FLOP!!!"  it's seriously the cutest thing!

we are working on the concept of "same and different"  which is very challenging for her to generalise into different areas.  it seems she tries to memorize things that are the same and then things that are different.  but when you introduce a new set of items to her- she has to relearn the concept all over again.
